IDR is seeking a Data Center Consultant to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Memphis, TN. This role involves supporting a cutting-edge AI company's data center operations, requiring a mix of technical expertise and customer-facing skills. The position offers a dynamic environment with significant travel and hands-on project involvement.
Position Overview for the Data Center Consultant:
- Provide design, deployment, and implementation services within a data center environment, ensuring solutions meet client needs.
- Act as a liaison between pre-sales and delivery teams, managing project execution from start to finish.
- Troubleshoot multi-vendor issues, oversee cabling, fiber optics, transceivers, and power balancing.
- Support scripting and automation projects, with experience in Python, Bash, or Ansible considered a plus.
- Travel up to 90%, including extended stays in Memphis and other project locations, ensuring flexible scheduling during ramp-up.
Requirements for the Data Center Consultant:
- Extensive data center experience, including knowledge of servers, switches, routers, and cabling (fiber, transceivers).
- Documentation experience and familiarity with cooling solutions, including liquid cooling is a plus.
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, Ansible) are highly desirable.
- Ability to work directly with customers, demonstrating excellent communication and customer-facing personality.
- Willingness to travel extensively and relocate if not already local to Memphis.
