IDR is seeking a Data Center Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Irving, Texas. This role involves supporting large-scale data center systems to ensure operational efficiency and uptime. The company operates within the IT infrastructure industry, focusing on data center management and technology solutions.
Position Overview for the Data Center Engineer:
- Support and maintain large-scale data center systems to ensure continuous uptime, reliability, and operational efficiency
- Involve in systems administration, infrastructure support, troubleshooting, and implementation of data center technologies including networking, servers, databases, and monitoring systems
- Collaborate with IT teams to design and improve data center operations, support projects and architecture initiatives
- Contribute to system performance, recovery planning, and service delivery standards
- Report to key stakeholders and serve as a technical resource within the data center environment
Requirements for the Data Center Engineer:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field
- 5+ years of Data Center infrastructure (DCIM) applications and systems management
- Systems administration & hardware expertise across server OS, physical servers, storage, power/cooling systems, and hardware troubleshooting
- Networking, databases, and scripting experience with hands-on support of system configuration, monitoring, automation, and performance optimization
- Project coordination & cross-functional IT collaboration - able to communicate technical processes to C-Suite
