IDR is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Genomics) to join one of our top clients for an opportunity remotely. This role involves designing and building back-end services to support data-centric clinical and analytic applications in the genomics industry, utilizing state-of-the-art software development frameworks. The company specializes in advancing genomic research and clinical solutions through innovative technology.
Position Overview for the Senior Software Engineer (Genomics):
- Design and develop back-end services supporting genomics data applications
- Collaborate with data engineering, platform, and solutions teams to ensure system resilience and scalability
- Work in a cloud-based micro-services environment, adhering to uptime and accuracy targets
- Leverage cloud computing, big data, and machine learning frameworks to enhance product offerings
- Contribute to high-performance applications that benefit research and clinical outcomes
Requirements for the Senior Software Engineer (Genomics):
- Knowledge of Python, BASH, and Linux/Unix tools
- Experience with bioinformatics applications, pipelines, and tools such as Illumina BCL Conversion, GATK, or Sentieon
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new scripting languages and tools
- Knowledge of Nextflow or other pipeline management software
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical design skills, with understanding of system architecture and development methodologies
