Job Summary: 

Infinity is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Ground Based Radar Digitization (GBRD) program, a critical modernization effort transforming eight Ground Based Radars for NORAD, USSTRATCOM, and USSPACECOM. This position requires a proven systems engineering expert to support complex technical activities, drive MBSE implementation, manage critical interfaces, and ensure successful delivery through operational acceptance. The Senior Systems Engineer will provide technical expertise to the Systems Engineering & Integration (SEI) Working Group, mentor engineering staff, and coordinate with government stakeholders including Space Systems Command and Mission Deltas.

Key Responsibilities: 

Requirements Engineering & Architecture 

  • Lead requirements decomposition and maintain Integrated Requirements Specifications (IRS) with bidirectional traceability
  • Define performance requirements, acceptance criteria, and verification approaches for assigned areas
  • Develop and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Interface Definition Documents (IDDs)
  • Facilitate requirements working groups with government, contractors, and mission stakeholders
  • Support Common Architecture Governance Board (CAGB) activities and drive Modular System Interfaces enabling cross-vendor interoperability
  • Integrate cybersecurity architecture requirements (Zero Trust, defense-in-depth) into technical baseline

Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

  • Develop comprehensive MBSE models using Cameo Systems Modeler conforming to SSC SysML Style Guide
  • Create DoDAF 2.0 architecture products (OV, SV, CV, StdV views) and lead model-based requirements allocation
  • Coordinate bi-weekly model integration with third-party MBSE validator and ensure conformance to SSC standards and MOSA principles
  • Support integration of MBSE models with government's Integrated Digital Environment (IDE)
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers in MBSE methodologies

Technical Integration & Verification

  • Provide senior-level technical support to integration activities across RF front-end, digital beamforming, and signal processing
  • Support performance integration testing campaigns at the Digital Systems Integration Lab (DSIL)
  • Develop Integration Test Plans, Performance Test Procedures, and define test scenarios aligned with system requirements
  • Support hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop integration strategies and interface verification
  • Analyze test data and generate performance assessment reports against Technical Performance Measures (TPMs)
  • Support troubleshooting of integration issues and coordinate resolution across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Conduct trade studies on technical architecture options and implementation approaches

Technical Reviews & Risk Management: 

  • Support System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), and milestone events
  • Present integration test results and prepare technical presentations for government and stakeholder audiences
  • Develop entrance/exit criteria for technical reviews and track action items through closure
  • Identify, assess, and document technical risks with mitigation strategies; perform impact analysis for engineering changes
  • Track Technical Performance Measures (TPMs) and maintain technical baselines in government repositories
  • Lead technical planning activities and develop integrated test schedules

Stakeholder Coordination & Leadership: 

  • Interface with government Program Office, Mission Deltas, Space Systems Command, and mission stakeholders
  • Support coordination with MDA/DE, ITW/AA, and DSIL staff for test environment configuration and execution
  • Brief leadership on technical progress, risks, and recommendations
  • Mentor mid-level and junior systems engineers and champion systems engineering discipline
  • Contribute to Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) development


Qualifications: 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required; Master's degree preferred
  • Experience:
    • 7+ years of systems engineering experience on complex defense or aerospace programs
    • Proven track record on Major Defense Acquisition Programs (MDAPs) or Middle Tier Acquisition (MTA) programs
    • Extensive experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) implementation and technical review support (SRR, PDR, CDR)
    • Strong background in requirements management, architecture development, interface control, and integration/test activities
    • Experience with Space Force or Space Systems Command programs preferred; radar systems or phased array technology highly desired
  • Clearance Requirement: SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance; ability to obtain/maintain TOP SECRET/SCI preferred
  • Required Skills:
  • Expert-level systems engineering knowledge and deep expertise in MBSE methodologies/tools (Cameo, MagicDraw, Rhapsody)
  • Expert knowledge of requirements management tools (IBM DOORS, DOORS NG, JAMA), DoDAF 2.0 framework, and MOSA principles
  • Strong understanding of verification/validation methodologies, test planning, and configuration management
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder coordination, and technical writing skills for government audiences
  • Comprehensive knowledge of DoD cybersecurity frameworks (RMF, NIST 800-53, Zero Trust)
  • Preferred Skills:
  • INCOSE CSEP or ESEP certification
  • Experience with Space Systems Command programs, radar systems (particularly phased array radars and digital beamforming), and RF test equipment
  • Understanding of Missile Warning, Missile Defense, and Space Domain Awareness missions
  • Experience with ITW/AA system certification, MDA certification processes, or spectrum certification (SSRA)
  • Familiarity with Agile/DevSecOps, MIL-STD-882E Safety Engineering, Government Integrated Digital Environments, and signal processing validation techniques


Work Environment/Physical Requirements: 

  • Office environment with occasional laboratory (DSIL) and site visits. Travel is estimated at 10-20%.
  • May require after-hours or weekend work to address critical system issues or deployments.
  • Ability to work at a desk and operate a computer for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of IT equipment or hardware components (up to 25 lbs).

Work Schedule: 

This is a full-time position, typically working 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required depending on operational needs.
