IDR is seeking a Software Engineer II - UI/UX to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Kennesaw, GA. This role supports the design and implementation of UI and network electronic system components for marine products. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and international stakeholders while delivering robust, testable software tied to embedded systems.
Position Overview for the Software Engineer II - UI/UX
- Lead the design and implementation of UI and network electronic system components for marine products (e.g., Multi-Functional Displays and Ethernet)
- Design software architecture and develop both backend (embedded-support) and frontend UI components for an embedded system
- Translate requirements into structured solutions and evaluate feasibility, risks, and technical constraints to meet design specifications
- Create clear documentation of system architecture, solutions, processes, requirements, and project schedules
- Work cross-functionally with UI engineers and international stakeholders (Japan/Europe), contributing ownership from ideation through testing and evaluation
Requirements for the Software Engineer II - UI/UX:
- 3–5+ years building UI software for embedded systems (e.g., automotive/marine/industrial-type experience preferred)
- Strong experience with JavaScript and WebSockets, including real-time UI updates
- Proficiency with React, CSS, HTML5 Canvas, and SVG for building interactive UI components
- Experience with Python in an embedded/product environment, including Python CAN tool library experience (as applicable)
- Familiarity with Docker, Nginx configuration, and GitHub/version control, along with strong documentation expectations spanning UX to system/software architecture perspectives
